I am an English instructor of ESL students, many who are preparing for the Toefl exam. I have reviewed 5 books myself before recommending students buy one. While this book appears to be well organized, WATCH OUT!!! It is loaded with typos and errors from the start.For example, in the Model Test 1: Pretest, I counted 11 errors in just 5 pages!!!For example, They indicate which paragraph to read, and have them numbered incorrectly (1 and 2 are ok, but they have questions for paragraph 5 and there are only 4 paragraphs!)Vocabulary words on the test should be highlighted, but they missed one, so a student has to search for it in the paragraph, thus wasting valuable time for a timed test. For the question asking the student to insert a sentence, the correct answer is "C" and the answer key has the correct answer as "B" - which is NOT correct!! Then they go on to say why B is correct, while explaining the answer response for "C". This is just careless and unforgivable for a test publisher!On one answer - where three choices are required - they list the correct choices as: "E, F and D". Fine, but why not make it: D, E, and F?The Toefl test is difficult enough for ESL students, and I would NEVER recommend a book that makes the test literally impossible and so confusing. The Princeton books are so far, my top picks.

I bought this product a week ago. It arrived on time, every thing was good. The book is good, the small book comes with is good but when I started doing the full test, I started to feel really annoyed. When I take the full test, it skips some questions and at the end of the test you end up with 9 unanswered questions. Moreover it shows the questions I did right as wrong. It shows the same choice as a right answer but still gives red mark telling I did wrong. So these really demotivate you, because you wanna see how well you scored but constantly facing with problems is frustrating. Still if you want to evaluate yourself with the chart ( number of right answer Vs. scaled scores) you can benefit from the material. There are 8 full practice tests, so plenty of exercise.

I have studied only 2 weeks for the TOEFL and focused on only the speaking and writing part. I used this book for exercise purposes. I has lots of exercises and helped me improve my speaking strategy, which I have found very useful. If you have a sound background, then I think this book will give you the fine-tuning you need to score above 100 in the actual TOEFL exam. Although it contains some typos, they are not all over the entire book, and every single book has editing errors. I think this book is worth buying. As far as I know no other book out there in the market has 7 full mock TOEFL exams, which makes this book unique.I also suggest you Speaking and Writing Strategies for the TOEFL iBT (Book & Audio CD) by Bruce Stirling for especially writing part of the exam. I think this book really boosted my score in the writing section of the TOEFL. For speaking practices, you might want to take a look at Mastering Skills for the TOEFL iBT, 2nd Edition Advanced Speaking.By the way, I got 112 overall (Reading 28, Listening 30, Speaking 25, Writing 29). Good Luck on the exam.

This is a great and complete kit for preparing and passing the TOEFL exam for foreign educated people planning to join universities in North America. It has a complete set of material for preparing in all aspects of the TOEFL iBT test. I recommend this as one and only kit if you want to pass the TOEFL iBT on first try. I got this for my Niece who is preparing to go to graduate school here in the US and she passed the TOEFL iBT test on the first attempt just using this kit.

I read in other comments that there is a link or Q code to get the audio download for the listening and speaking sections of the practice tests. I can't find it! Any help would be greatly appreciated! The rest of the book is great! Very realistic practice tests, a variety of strategy development exercises, and a detailed explanation of what to expect on the test make this a great resource.

If you want to have a great performance in the TOEFL test, please study this book. It includes an useful CD with a lot of tests kind TOEFL. Actually, the level of the listening and reading sections is a little harder than the real test. So, when you take the TOEFL, you will find this exam easier! I am an Italian-Chilean guy and this book was very useful to me to carry out my dream of studying in USA a PhD. in Physics.

I'm sooooo disappointed with my purchase. I bought this book (kindle) because I have 13th edition from same publisher and I really like it so I decided to buy 14th edition. Unfortunately everything is exactly same as 13th edition (Model test as well ). Who made a same book with different title !? I wish I could take this back...

This is THE book for the serious student of the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous! I cannot say enough good things about this book, or stress its importance enough if you are interested in working your 12 Step Program of Recovery the way our founders did! I am a prolific note taker, so the note pages are perfect for me. The ribbons make it easy for me to find the start and end points each week for the BB Study Group that we chair.Filled with history of our program, footnotes, dictionary, glossary, as well as the Original Manuscript written by Bill W., completely unaltered. We chair 2 meeting per week, our BB Study, as well as a 12 Steps and 12 Traditions meeting, (For that, we use the "Original 1946 Edition-Little Red Book" for the same reason, in our meetings, we want to know how the founders worked the Program that enabled them to say "...we who have RECOVERED" and caused them to see 75-100% recovery rates, as compared to the dismal 8% recovery rates reported by the General Service Offices for AA today.The founders knew, in order to recover from a "hopeless state of mind and body", they needed to recognize and accept that their disease had placed them "beyond human aid" and that a vital spiritual experience was the only thing that could restore them to sanity and remove the compulsion and obsession to drink."If you are a serious student of the Big Book, an old timer, or a new comer, this book is for you! And to be able to purchase such a high quality, leather bound volume at such a remarkable price, it a real find!

This is a fabulous new version of the big book! I have seen Alanon books with word glossaries and its tremendouly useful so I was stoked to find the big book version. (Wish they made a 12&12 as such) as this is a new book I am only giving four stars because I have a few suggestions- add a ribbon for page marking, add thumbtabs for the different versions- also would be amazing to include study guide notes as opposed to the original text in the back since the new version in the front already notates the differences.

I bought this to use for only sponsorship. The fact that every page has a corresponding notes page is fabulous for writing in things to bring up in doing step work with sponsees. I didn't get the hard cover version, because it is made with leather and I am vegan, but I would have preferred a hard cover version I could have because it would last longer than this soft cover. I have to buy a cover that will help protect this one. However, it is not likely to get taken by accident in a book study meeting since it is red, so that's good. And the quality of the book is great. The price is really great.

for every page there is a empty page beside it with 20 lines to keep notes on whatever you find important to list... then the entire "Original Manuscript" comes after the first 164 pages and the doctor's nightmare. then there is a dictionary, and a word index, and a subject index that follows...this is a great tool to greater studies of those who might be able to help a real alcoholic if he has a desire to stop drinking.

A friend of mine has had a copy for a number of years. Finally after wanting to get more from my study meetings I decided to purchase this book. A great price, and cheaper to purchase than some conference approved big books, if your looking to join this way of life and don't have a big book I highly suggest this book, if you have been around for years, or decades, once again I highly suggest this book to get more from your study.

This edition is wonderful. Has word glossary in the back of the book with original copy of big book. On every other page there blank page for notes. Easy read.. highly recommend this book... one thing i was hoping for was 12 step prayers to be included but they are not.. having trouble finding copy with 12 steps prayers. Overall this book is Awesome...

I have been in recovery for many years, had my share of slips and mishaps, and read the Big Book a lot. I have recently gotten sober again (and I pray for the last time in this life) and when I dug up my old Big Book I wondered if maybe there was something a little nicer out there. So I came to Amazon and found this edition and knew I had to have it. The binding on most of the A.A. literature is usually pretty cheap and doesn't put up with hours and hours of reading and study. This edition is beautiful. The binding is excellent and the layout is excellent. Easy to read and with every page having it's very own lined page opposite it for notes, it is quite a resource for anyone serious about their recovery and serious about studying. The only possible complaint I would have is that the personal stories have been omitted. I think they could have maybe left out the origional text in the back of the book and included at least some of the more recent personal stories. However, I know I will get a lot of use out of this version and it is an excellent value for the money.
