I've been living with metastatic breast cancer since 1998. This is the best book on the subject of MBC I've found. The author, Anne Loeser, has been accumulating information contained in this book for years and years. She has kept this up to date electronically and has sent out electronic versions for free to those requesting the information. This has been purely voluntary on her part. I'm happy that she's finally published this in book form. It will be fabulous to take with me on trips to my oncologist and to scientific conferences where treatments I'm not familiar with are discussed. Thank you so much, Anne, for the work you continue to do for the breast cancer community. You are truly a super star.

This is a great book and a must have for anyone living w/ MBC and their caregivers. My mom has been living w/ MBC for over 3 years and I found this book recommended online thru a forum. I have found it so helpful that I have bought 3 additional copes (1 for my mom, and 2 brothers)! This book provides very useful research on treatment options, what to expect and how to manage side effects.

I have been living with metastatic breast cancer for 8 years. I’m a well educated, well informed patient. I could not believe how well written and helpful this book is. It’s a wonderful resource for educating yourself and providing you with a framework to ask questions of your medical care team. MBC is a complex disease. This book provides as much information as needed concerning each of the subtypes and which treatment would be appropriate to discuss with your care team. I highly recommend!

This is an incredible resource for people diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer, medical oncologists, care givers of those diagnosed with this disease or anyone who works in a related field.The author has spent hundreds of hours compiling and researching the most up to date information for all stage four breast cancer types, treatments, and all the important know-how’s that often times our doctors forget to discuss due to their busy schedules handling hundreds of patient case loads. One item I learned from this book (which I hadn’t known nor had anyone discussed with me) was that I did not to continue receiving monthly injections of Xgeva after one year of having this treatment. After one year, it is typically okay to switch it to every three months. I brought this up with my MO team and they said no problem. Often times as patients, we have to really self-advocate and because we know our own bodies the best, we are active participants in treatment decision making. This book allows us to do just that, with a very educated mind. Thank you Anne!!

I read this because so many of my friends with metastatic breast cancer recommended it. I thought it was excellent and it is a must-have resource for anyone with metastatic breast cancer and/or their caregivers. I have been living with triple negative MBC for over 5 years and I've gone through a lot of different cytotoxic chemotherapy treatments plus 6 clinical trials. I am a well-informed patient and I do a lot of research and I'm active in steering my treatment decisions. Over the years I have found that most oncologists practice a patient-centered shared decision-making model so it's important for patients to be well informed. This book is one of my go-to resources, very well written and helpful. Definately highly recommend it as a great resource to have.

The author has provided a complete review of all the available treatments for a metastatic breast cancer patient. The best part is that she has no hidden agenda, and is not shilling for a diet program or special treatment regimen. Without ego, she has simply quantified and clearly explained all the treatment protocols available to the metastatic breast cancer crowd.Now, that's a refreshing change of pace.

Great song selection, overall. Pretty much includes every title song from various Zelda games throughout the year, as well as some other catchy tunes you probably will recognize. I would place most of these pieces at the beginner-intermediate level, as the tempo of the pieces is something you'd have to get used to. Great stuff, though.

I was not expecting the included art to be in black and white... maybe I missed that in all the reading and researching before Christmas that makes your head spin after a while. I don't see the art mentioned in the description at all anymore... weird. Ours had four full page art drawings bound into the book. The person who received it did not know that I was expecting color, and still loved it. The print was a little snugged on a few pages as well, but I didn't have time to fuss over it, and gave it anyways. No complaints from the recipient as far as I know. This was for someone who was very new to the keyboard so I also searched for and gave them some print outs on how to read sheet music :o)

A really great variety of songs from the Zelda games. Bought for my daughter who shares my passion for gaming and was in the middle of the Alfred piano series Level 3 when she started playing from the Zelda book. She is doing the Main Theme for her spring recital.

As a beginner in playing piano, I am not sure if I would call this an "easy" book. It's more for a level 3 or easy to intermediate performer. The notes have an easy rhythm but they have a wide range of octaves and a few key switches that make the music a little bit tougher for beginners. However, the pieces are fairly identical arrangements to many zelda songs. I also like how they are in order based on game. (I.e. windwaker, ocarina of time, etc.)

My son is a huge Zelda fan and has been taking piano lessons for a short time. He needed to come up with a song for his first piano recital and we found this music. It was a little advanced for him, but with practice, he was able to play the opening Zelda theme for one of his selections at his recital and he played it perfectly. He loves all the songs and I'm sure will use this music for some time!

Love how easy most of these are. A few of them are more for beginners like me, but some others will be good once I get better at the keyboard. It’s so much fun being able to play the music from Zelda!

Lots of great songs. I have no complaints about the selection of the songs. I've been playing for six months and most of these songs are within my ability range but there are some that are challenging. I would recommend this to anyone who has been playing for six months to one year. If you've been playing longer, you might want to pick up the regular version.

My kids are Zelda fans and also play the piano. They have enjoyed playing the different songs that they hear when they play the actual games. It is a good challenge not simple but not too hard.

This was a really fun book for kids to try out. Got them a leprechaun doll and paired with this book made St. Patrick's day super fun for my girls. My 3 year old wanted to play with the leprechaun and when it left on St. Patrick's day to "go back to Ireland" we sprinkled shamrocks around the house leading to the backyard and then used green sidewalk paint to make footprints leading to some gold chocolate coins for them. The book gets them in the mood for the holiday and talks about making traps -which we did-fun. But was a little long winded for my kids 3.5 and 1.5. It also talked about traps that failed and running out of ideas which was a little discouraging part when your making a really simple trap with real small kids.

I got the book for all four of my grand families. Then a couple weeks later I sent a leprechaun plush doll and they all had so much fun building traps and cleaning up after their leprechauns got into mischief at night when they were sleeping! A fun new magical family tradition! The book itself is ok. Story is fun, illustrations just ok, but the idea is great fun!!

I just recieved this book this morning (it came very quick!!) I bought this book for a new tradition, we do Elf Magic Elves for Christmas and the kids just love this.. so we decided to do a Leprechaun Elf for St. Patricks, and this is the perfect book!!!!! If you have ever thought about this...where a leprechaun comes to stay in March, and comes to life at night , going on Leprechauncapades lol.) and then you find him in the am....this is the perfect book!!!! so cute!!! Be warned... if your kids have Christmas Elves that stay with them in December, and they read this book...or you read it to them... They will want a Leprechaun to visit them as well!!! In the story the Leprechaun comes March 1. and stays until St. Patricks.. (he of course escapes the Leprechaun traps that are set...lol)(our leprechaun will come for a week!!) So find a cute Leprechaun and get this book!!! start a new tradition!!!! Make some great memories!!! I'm so excited to start this!!! and so happy I found this book!!

We loved reading this as a family. All the silly ways used to catch leprechauns helped my kids fuel their own imaginations and set traps through our house. Will read this one every year.

This is such a great book especially for St Patricks day. My students Loved it then looked forward to catching our own classroom leprechaun. Great book

This is a wonderful book that gave us great ideas to use for years to come of Leprechaun mischief! Our kids bought it hook,line, and sinker! Loved it!!! As other reviews stated, it may not be a good bed time story simply because of the length of the text, but we enjoyed reading it as a whole family earlier in the day! I highly recommend it!

I did not realize that a new book would not come with all the accessories. Becareful when ordering. I am taking college classes and need the complete set. I was able to return it to the customer. All I had to do was pay for the shipping. I am just going to order from my school bookstore. I haven't saved enough money to make ordering online worth it. I have had to return more books when I ordered online. If you are not taking classes then this would be a great book to learn by. However, you will learn more by actually transcribing from the cd than reading.

The farther I've gotten into trying to work with SQLAlchemy, the more I'm finding how much this guide comes up short.This book takes an example of a business that bakes cookies and sells them on a website. It walks you through setting up a database with tables for cookie SKUs, recipes, customers, and orders. Every example is based on that basic plot. Examples are thorough, but highly specific, and explanations are brief or non-existent. This guide will get you started with SQLAlchemy, but it does a terrible job explaining a lot of the core concepts.There needs to be a good guide on SQLAlchemy written in plain English, but unfortunately this one isn't it. It's only slightly better than the official documentation. The SQLAlchemy docs are written in such a convoluted way they're almost impossible to make sense of. For example, a paragraph explaining how relationships work is 4 or 5 lines long with only two sentences. This guide is only slightly better, but to really understand how SQLAlchemy works, you'll have to do a lot of web searching and crawling through docs and guides elsewhere.[end edit]I needed to set up a database back-end for a work project in Python, and I decided SQLAlchemy was the way to go. There are a lot of guides on the internet but they all have a lot of gaps. This book walks you through step by step in setting up a database and doing CRUD operations on it.Almost all of the examples are for sqlite, and while most of the concepts are the same, I got stuck trying to convert to MySQL. This book barely glosses over MySQL and doesn't provide enough to get it working right. I had to go to other sources for that.It also doesn't do a very good job covering how to get your query output in JSON-able format. By default, SQLAlchemy queries will return an object as one of the fields, which fails when trying to output to JSON (for an API). I figured out how to filter the results but unfortunately this book didn't help.Another issue was adding columns. This book covers Alembic, which is a migration tool, but it barely touches on how to do something simple like adding a column. After converting to MySQL I ended up just doing it from the mysql command line, then updating my schemas.It also glosses over joins and relationships, mapping fields between tables. It doesn't cover almost any modules in-depth, it just mentions them in passing. Like "Notice how we're using backref here." without really explaining what backref does.It also starts with SQLAlchemy Core, which does let you do CRUD operations, but if you're trying to run your database through a web front-end or an API, SQLAlchemy Core falls flat on its face. I spent several hours learning how to use "Core" before discovering this. It would be nice if the book covered the pro's and cons of Core vs. ORM from the start so you'd be able to make better use of your time.It's all good, I got the project done, built a Python module to interface with SQLAlchemy, put an API in front of it through Flask, and now I can do CRUD operations through an API or a web front-end, and it's easier than writing to a CSV file. I could have done it without this book but it would have taken me a lot longer, and I wouldn't have learned as much.If you need to use SQL for a Python project, you need this book. It's not perfect, but it gets the job done, and after going through the examples, so will you.

This book got me up to speed on SQLAlchemy quickly. As a long time .NET programmer getting into Python, I needed a quick intro on how to do database work with Python. This book contains no fluff and is all business.

Book gives just enough information to be frustrated. There is also little information on how to use with could based sql databases, which seems like a large gap.

Update:I don't care about being rude, this book is absolute garbage. Changing from 2-star to 1-star.The more I have tried to do with SQLAlchemy, the more the source docs have helped, and the more this book has decreased in value. It's mostly useless if you're doing a basic SQL Lite database. It's entirely useless if you're using a real database like SQL Server.Save your money, ignore the "reviews" from the authors' family members, and read the source docs.One day I will write a book on this topic that is actually useful, because I am astonished that such a rich topic has such terrible coverage.I don't want to be rude, but I'm going to risk coming off as such here.I am learning to program to supplement my job capabilities as a budding business analyst. DataCamp and O'Reilly books are my primary learning tools (in addition to practice and practice projects, of course). I love the O'Reilly books on Python, especially Wes Mckinney's Pandas book. Out of several books I've been consuming and learning from, this SQL Alchemy book is the smallest (~180 pages) and the least useful. This is especially disappointing because it's priced a little bit higher than what I've paid for 400-600 page books in this area of study.I am trying to use SQLAlchemy to manipulate a SQLExpress database at work (obviously using a copy of the database to learn on). Unfortunately, for the beginner such as myself, there seem to be several extra steps and considerations that need to be taken for something like SQLExpress. The author's examples use SQLite, which I personally choose to believe was due to laziness rather than to help the reader. Because of this, I'm having issues just connecting to the database (which is "covered" in the introduction). I did finally manage to get it done, but you would think that at 182 pages, the author/publisher wouldn't have had to break the bank to better cover some of the introductory (read: essential) parts of the SQLAlchemy process.Have I mentioned the price? Because the list price is 40 for this book, and at the time of this review, it's not selling for much less than that. Like I said, I've gotten bigger, infinitely more useful and more readable books, including books from but not limited to this publisher for more reasonable sums of money.Lastly, there is the bit that may seem personal but I assure you, it is objective and important.As I mentioned, DataCamp has been a valuable resource for me as I learn programming. I'm progressing through their Python Data Analysis Career track, which has classes taught by different programmers. While this is not a DataCamp review, I have to say I love Hugo Bowne-Anderson's courses. He's hairy, deep-voiced, and knows how to effectively communicate his solid knowledge of Python. If he had a dedicated podcast, I would not only listen to it during the day, but I would also play the episodes at night as a form of white-noise.Jason Myers (one of the authors of this book) is also an instructor on DataCamp. No surprise, he teaches about SQLAlchemy. There might be parts of him that trigger a biological reaction in me that makes me associate him with people who have wronged me in the past, and that could color why I do not care for his instruction. Or it could be that he just isn't one of those people who is good at communicating. It's probably both, and I get it. I'm told that I'm not really an intellectual communicator either. I'm also not teaching classes or writing anything more involved than this review. I'm sure that he knows what he's doing, he just doesn't say it well.TLDR: Overpriced book, barely 180 pages (including intro and appendix), very light on what seems like important information, author not really good at communicating. Giving the book two stars because it can still serve as a roadmap for your study.Honestly though, I'll be looking for a better SQLAlchemy book, and again, I'm having a hard time logically reconciling the cost relative to what I'm actually getting. If it was 180 pages that got me start-to-finish with the topic, I'd be fine with the price. But I feel like this should have been a 10 or 15 dollar book.

Not super in depth, but a more accessible intro than the official documentation which is very dense. I would recommend it to anyone who has never worked with SQLAlchemy before and needs a flu by overview. The docs are a fine resource once you are comfortable.

I had to learn Python and SQL Alchemy in a hurry. This book was just what I needed to get SQL Alchemy going. The section that describes the differences between Core and ORM is worth the price alone.

This is a comprehensive look at moving data from Python applications into SQL databases using SQLAlchemy. Jason Myers is writing about his own work and yet manages to keep his instruction down to earth.

This book is a great starting point for SQLAlchemy users. This will get you off the ground and running.

I bought this on the recommendation of our landscape designer at the beginning of the design process. We never used it. Not once. It could be terrific but it proved to be unnecessary. Instead, the primary reference book for a low water yard was "Landscape Plants for the Arizona Desert," something seemingly published by the Phoenix area conservation office(s) and available at no cost.

This is one of two gardening books we bought after moving to Arizona two years ago; the other is "Arizona Gardener's Guide" by Mary Irish. Of the two, this is probably the more informative, but the wealth of information it contains is not presented in the most user-friendly way. Plants are listed using their proper botanical names (i.e. in Latin) rather than the common names that most people are likely to be familiar with. The photography is first-rate, and the "how to" explanations are mostly clear and easy to follow. If you live in Arizona, and only want to buy one book, I'd recommend the Arizona Gardener's Guide, as it is AZ-specific. If you live outside Arizona, this is probably the better choice -- although you might want to buy both, as they have different strengths.

If you live in a dry climate, this book can be very helpful. It has a great breakdown of the different arid climates that I think is more useful than the traditional zones. It addresses the ingredients of your climate including cold and frost, heat, rainfall, winds, and humidity. It also has a section of microclimates.The charts and illustrations are great. I liked the descriptions of the plants, especially the notes on special design features, uses, disadvantages, and planting and care. I found this to be an all-around useful book.

Maybe because there are few other works on the subject it is the one to own but it is hardly encyclopedic. It seems to have everything listed and illustrated but can only be a jumping off reference to further research if you plan to grow the plant yourself.

This is a good, basic reference book for anyone who works with or just enjoys plants and lives in a desert environment. I had gotten rid of my older copy and missed it so much I ordered this one. This one is a newer version and has color pictures! Not fancy, just good information on a wide variety of plants.

I had an earlier version of the book which was the best one on the subject matter (I had bought several other books on the subject before I found this one). It was over 25 years old and coming apart, so I wanted a new one. It was expanded from the earlier version which was very helpful.

Came highly recommended by a desert landscape architecture instructor in the Tucson, AZ area. I found it very helpful.

Oh yes! You must buy this book if you want to learn more about color theory and how it affects the quality of your work as an MUA. I learned a little bit of color theory in school, but it wasn't nearly to the level of this book provides! I've learned so much from it and find myself mixing colors of things in my head to figure out what is mixed with what.

If you really want to step up your makeup game, you should totally get this book. It will help you understand color better, and it's up to date with current products. Whether you do social makeup, editorial or FX, you will find this book helpful.

All the essentials of color theory translated into practical advice for Makeup Artists. I teach color theory to Makeup Artists and I recommend this book to all my students.

This book is packed with information – it’s definitely a must-have for every makeup artist’s library (including special fx makeup). It’s easy to read and understand and thoroughly explains how you see and use color. The lighting section was really helpful, too, and the accompanying graphics are an added bonus. Middleton has done a great job researching, writing, and illustrating (including some of her own work).

It even explains lighting! I’m in love with this book. It’s a good resource for makeup artists and enthusiasts.

This could easily be titled. Color Theory, practical applications for the Artist. I am pleased to add this book to my reference collection. It was a joy cover to cover and I have no doubt will be used in advanced classroom teachings. Excellent first book!

So many people are going blind because they never search for answers. They just take their doctors word for it that nothing can be done. Dr. Kondrot proves them wrong. I proved them wrong. My near vision correction was 2.75, I have done everything Dr. Kondrot says to do. I no longer wear glasses, except to read, my near vision correction is now 1.25. I wish everyone with age related macular degeneration like I have would read his book and follow his advice. I did, I saw Gail Brent, Lac at the Health and Vision Acupuncture Center in San Diego, Ca. for micro-acupuncture for macular degeneration. Gail Brent did more than heal my eyes, I left feeling like a better person. She is a very caring, compassionate healer.

I don't know why doctors don't use the material presented in this book.

I purchased this book for a family member who is in the early stages of glaucoma, hoping that holistic approaches might reduce the probability of surgery later on. While the book does provide some useful information regarding the importance of selenium, chromium and lutein in the maintenance of eye health, its extremely general information on most topics is almost useless. For example, Kondrot states that it is important to minimize stress and avoid processed foods, both factors in decreasing the body's retention of toxic compounds. However, he also seems to advocate avoidance of large quantities of fluids. This is contrary to his own hypothesis that it is important to clear the body of toxins, and ignores the fact that diabetics(who are a large proportion of his target audience)cannot safely do this for an extended period of time! On the subject of stress relief, his advice is also very general, although not dangerous in its execution. In short, the only truly useful information provided in the book comes in the area of dietary adjustment and the use of mineral supplements. Note: This book would probably be much more useful to individuals with eye disorders who are not afflicted with diabetes.

I would recommend this book to anyone with an eye disease or a potential to have one. This book is exceptionally good for those who are looking for more natural treatment and for those who have been told there is nothing they can do.

The book is great, written by an opthamologist, and he gives advice that you will not hear from standard AMA allopathic doctors. You can't go wrong following the advice, which I myself am now doing. There are no drugs or invase procedures involved. I wish I had started this earlier in life and did not know about this book from years ago. His newest book about 10 essentials to save your eyes is even better and just out 2 years ago.
