And his hypnosis techniques are great for calming you down so you don't overeat when stressed. This is not a diet and yes you have heard a lot of diets claiming it's not a diet but any program that restricts you from eating any thing, even a spice or a vegetable is a diet. period. this program lets you eat any thing as long as you like it. It has changed my life for ever, for better..Thanks, Paul Mckenna.Update:06/07/14... Still losing weight..did not gain back any. Although, the weight loss dropped to a pound a month as I started going to college and didn't have enough time to listen to the CD regularly. Even after a year, you need to listen to the CD at least 3 times a week to keep your motivation up. Back listening to CD. I am writing this update so if you are tired of dieting and emotional eating, please try.

I saw an article online with seven day access to the audio from this book (a 22 minute hypnosis). After doing it for a few nights I was amazed at how much it was working for me, so I began an online search to download it permanently which led me here to the Kindle edition. Unfortunately what others say is true, the product code provided to enter on the Hay House website for download of audio/video DOES NOT WORK and is invalid. The only reason I bought this was for the audio. So frustrated.

This is an awesome book. I have struggled with being overweight for years. I have always known the root cause was emotional, but could never figure out how to change. This book explains what happens in the brain when chronic stress sets in. This is a program that treats the root cause. I've only been practicing the program for about a week, but already let go of 5lbs. Try it, you will not regret it.

A cd is not in the book, you have to do a download from their website. If you do not know how to do this( it really is easy) or do not have internet your local library will help you. Take a cd with you. The book along is not enough. You really need the cd and the downloads to work this program. There are 5 downloads. This goes for all the book this author writes.

I love Paul McKenna and his books. They're very easy to read in a day or even two. I re-read it and then start implementing his suggestions in the book. I seriously love his voice and accent!!! Very soothing and relaxing. I don't even need to sleep to listen to the hypnosis part of the recording. I'm still working on the Havening Techniques in the book. I feel that it helps overall. I feel more positive after listening to the hypnosis. Whether you believe or not, it certainly lifts your spirits. Hoping this will help with my emotional eating and things that were stuck in my brain and under the surface for so many years.

The last weight loss book/plan whatever that you'll ever need. It starts working immediately & just keeps getting better. Big fan!

I understand both how and why some people may be overwhelmed by this book. It is quite comprehensive and probably not suited for the beginning practitioner.For many, this work may raise more questions than it answers.However, this reformation of approach to fitness training and the healing arts is nothing short of genius.Granted, as comprehensive as 'Movement' is, when you have finished reading you are not even half way down the rabbit hole.There is a series of tools available for you to begin to master the processes of correctives.Personally, after being a fitness professional for over 20 years I have thoroughly incorporated the concepts from this book and FMS certification into my practice. I look forward to further research into the usage of the functional movement screen.Kudos to the author on his concepts and principles.

Great book!.Tons of content, but all of it is simplified to achieve a single goal, to move our bodies.This not a book with a list of corrective exercises, nor does it have an anatomy map to pick on isolated muscles.It's all about moving with full (normal) range of mothion in all joints, in all postures and positions.I would recomend this book to all trainers, PT's and coaches. Who want their clients to move faster, move efficiently, move for longevity and for rehab.

I think it's safe to say this book's verdict is out: it's excellent. There is gold here just in getting more ways to relate the concepts to patients/clients because Cook does a great job giving analogies. There is some repetition, but it feels like repeating key concepts and/or allowing chapters to stand on their own. It's not a book you just sit down and read. You have to take notes, think about what he's saying, and even take time to do more research. Cook's website movementbook.com has loads of supplemental information and getting certified in FMS allows you access to forums.I bought the Kindle version a couple of years ago, and I rebought the book to get the PDF version from the publisher's website (otpbooks.com). You get the Kindle and ePub formats as well for the same price. It's sometimes difficult to read textbooks in Kindle format, but it's nice to have there since it's smaller and more portable than an iPad. I think textbooks are better suited to stay in PDF format because the pictures and diagrams make sense.

Although the concepts of this book are nothing new, evaluating human movement, running this process through a filter like the FMS & SFMA forces us all to see things from a new perspective.Gray Cook takes the position of “using what works for you” and not “my way or the highway”, which is quite honestly one of the more appealing aspects of this “Movement “ approach! Thank you for standing up for what you believe in, leaning into the punches thrown at you from critics, and moving on with your principles!

Well writen, amazing assessments, good analysis for the body's most weakest link and easy to use tests.I bought it by coincidence without any clue, its really rich in information but I'm not sure about my skill its very new to me !To wrap it up you need to have a copy.

I would recommend this book to anyone interested in human movement patterns & wanting to look past the isolated ways anatomy is typically studied in higher education. Grey Cook connects functional movement patterns with intellectual/scientific knowledge and makes a strong argument for more cohesive analysis of human movement among various disciplines/professions. Maybe someday insurance policy writers will recognize these philosophies, so when someone comes in for back pain I don't have to work so hard to help them understand that neck/foot/whatever issues ARE related AND relevant!

Good read to help me understand how and why I move in certain ways and how to move better without pain

I have a ton of respect for Gray Cook. I previously had a poor view of his methods, but it was seeing his system put to use by practitioners who find it as an easier way to increase their volume. (Hand on PT takes time... Attention reduces net profits)But as I am reading his book, it is apparent there are some other sound methods for looking at movement and tying that into better treatments.I will always run a hands on practice, but this book with also change me for the better.Thanks Gray,Shawn

Rabbi Artson is not only a great Rabbi, educator and speaker. He is a great writer. If you are truly interested in examining a religious philosophy that frames life as it is and makes no excuses for life bumps, bruises and disappointments and presents an acceptable God view, Read Artson.

One of the best discussions of process theology I have read. As a retired Christian minister it drew me closer to Rabbi Artson and to his family and helped to unite a common faith. I am very grateful and expect to read this book often over the years.

Finally--a Jewish treatment of process theology. I would have preferred an engagement with the theology without the personal/family stories, though.

If I was well versed in the subject matter, I'd write like this. Best I've read in years. Right up my alley. As yet to see if it will be life changing. The format on the screen is easy to navigate and use. I'd like to thank the author.

Rabbi Artson has presented the concept of "Process Theology" in a clear, exciting way. About the Author

DR. OTIS BRAWLEY is the chief medical and scientific officer and executive vice president of the American Cancer Society. Dr. Brawley currently serves as professor of hematology, oncology, medicine and epidemiology at Emory University. He is also a CNN medical consultant. He is a graduate of the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine, and completed a residency in internal medicine at University Hospitals of Cleveland, Case-Western Reserve University, and a fellowship in medical oncology at the National Cancer Institute. PAUL GOLDBERG is an award-winning investigative reporter who covers oncology for The Cancer Letter, a weekly publication focused on drug development and the politics of cancer. His articles have appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Washington Monthly and he has been featured on 60 Minutes, 20/20, CNN and NPR. I knew the pharmaceutical industry is all about profits. But I didn't know just how greedy and disgustingthe medical profession is. We are at the mercy of a healthcare system that just runs on profits andlet's patients already in terrible distress meet the end of their lives with no guidance. We needto get Medicare for All legislature enacted as soon as possible. We need drive down the cost ofdrugs. We above all need more doctors like Dr. Brawley to come out and tell us what is going on.The lobbyists have a stranglehold on congress and the doctors have a monetary incentive to ignorescientific data and give treatments that are dangerous if not deadly. Read this book. It should bemandatory reading for all Medical students.

I had the privilege of working with Otis during part of his training at the National Cancer Institute at a time that policies on PSA and mammography screening were being newly scrutinized with respect to risk/benefit. The notion that screening might actually do more harm than good was seen as absolute heresy and I fondly remember the wonder and amazement in Otis' eyes as he unraveled to me just how this counter-intuitive idea could be so. Twenty years later, the truths I learned from Otis back then are still not widely appreciated among patients, indeed even doctors more sadly. I eagerly snatched this book up not only because I knew Otis and expected a riveting review of healthcare but because my experience in pharmaceutical development has led me to participate unintentionally in some of the perverse systems of conflicts of interest that characterize our healthcare system. I am at a personal watershed and this book is a strong antidote for what ails me, i.e. I feel emboldened to take my career in the direction of a solution rather than continue to contribute to the problem. Written for the general audience, We Do Harm breaks the ranks of legions of doctors who are invested in perpetuating a broken but remunerative healthcare system by introducing specific and by no means isolated instances where patients have been harmed. This book is at once disparaging of blind trust of one's physician and optimistic in that some stars like Otis and microcosms like Grady Memorial can and do avoid patient-disadvantaged conflicts of interest. This book provides evidence and motivation for every person in every role they engage in in the healthcare system: patient, consumer, provider, insurer, politician. No one can escape the relevance and import of the key message of this book that "more" is not always "better." Until such time, if ever, that our healthcare system operates under transparency, this is a must read for all. That means you! Now! It can't wait! I am a believer that healthcare quality will come from the bottom up and not the top down and this book exemplifies this spirit; read it and be empowered to ask the hard questions as to who is motivated to provide what care and at what personal gain.

Dr. Brawley (excuse me, Otis) has written a book about the kind of things doctors say to each other, but not out loud and certainly not for publication. The contrast of healthcare for the overprivileged to the lack of care for the underserved (and the sea of confusion for those in-between) should not exist in the United States, and yet it does. That so much of this happens in the care of people with cancer is really unforgivable. Many will be unhappy with the author, but many more will have to agree that he is indeed telling the truth -- and doing so in a way that is compulsively readable. Otis knows how to get your attention and weave a tale that points out the things you should be seeing. He does not claim to have the answers and is free with admitting his own missteps along the way. I already sent a copy to my niece who is a 2nd year resident at an inner-city hospital and told her to be sure to pass it around once she has read it.

I could not put this book down. I would say this is a must read for anyone that might get or who has cancer. Also anyone who has a chronic health problem should put this book in their library.I think Dr. Brawley gives compelling examples that illustrate how our health care systen is broken.Read this book!This is an excellent book unless you are a quack, a greed driven doctor or drug rep. Dr.Brawley points out that we should not waste valiable tax money or even insurance money on unproven cures or on drugs that cost 10-20 times as much as a proven drug. All medical care should be research based, rational and above all "do no harm".I hate to tell you this, but we as a country cannot afford to waste massive amounts of money anymore. If we don't get serious about health care it will break the country. We cannot afford to transfer wealth to quack doctors or for procedures that don't work. A spinal fusion costs about $80,000 yet 80% of the research says it does no good and it does a lot of harm. Is this any way to run a health care system?If you don't believe Dr. Brawley read the research for yourself.Use a little of your time to dig and see if he is telling the truth.A lot of the raw research is locked up tight and hard to access and not easy for a lay person to understand. We must rely on honest doctors like Dr. Brawley to tell us the truth about our healthcare systemThe chapters on the "PSA" test for prostate cancer were shocking to say the least.All the examples about the breast cancer problems are on point. My wife went through this several years ago and thank goodness we had a doctor whose first words were us was " I don't give any treatment that has not been through a double blind study."We feel like my wife received excellent treatment without receiving too much treatment. Too much can be as bad as too litttle as Dr. Brawley states.Dr. Brawley points out through his examples that "raw greed" on the part of hospitals, doctors and drug companies has layed waste to our health care system.The economic incentives are all on the side of more care not appropriate care. There is a vast difference between the two.Thank you Dr. Brawley.

He appears regularly on KLAS TV (CBS) Channel 8’s “Dishing and Dining,” and KVBC TV (NBC) as a guest commentator, and as a judge on Food Network’s “Iron Chef America.”

Great descriptions and details of each restaurant reviewed. Moving to Vegas and can’t wait to go through this book in reality! I like that the reviews are for expensive places as well as inexpensive take out soup places. It’s all in this book. Visit or live there, this book is extremely helpful. I’ve been to Vegas lots of times and didn’t know where to find certain ethnic restaurants. Now I do.
