If you are a WVU fan, new or old, you will enjoy this book. It reads as an autobiography of Don Nehlen and his time at WVU. It repeats itself often and the title lead me to believe it was going to have a bunch of anecdotal or inspiring stories from Mountaineer games and practices. It disappoints only in that aspect. Coach Nehlen is very respected in my life and to read into how he was hired and retired and the players and game moments that stuck out to him made this book a worthy read. Thanks to Coach Nehlen and his staff for their loyalty and to his players for their outstanding effort. Let's Go Mountaineers!

I bought this as a gift my sister's bf who's a WVU alum. He's only read the first portion of the book, but LOVES IT so far! I would definitely recommend this book for someone who either went to WVU or is a HUGE fan. A nice addition to the Blue and Yellow collection!

I love the way Brad Metlzer wrote Helen's story. It's an informative book that is written in a manner that it's relatable for children, and easy for them to understand what they're reading/what's being read to them. I even learned a few new things myself, reading this book. Within this book's pages readers will learn more about Helen Keller, get to read their name in braille (which we thought was really cool), see actual pictures of Helen, and see the timeline of her life, and achievements.One of the things I love about this book, is that it not only teaches readers about who Helen Keller was, it also inspires young readers, that no matter the obstacles you face in life, there will always be away around them (a quote that is referenced in the book). Helen Keller will inspire readers to not let their obstacle, whatever it may be, hold them back. Helen Keller is an inspirational women, who proved that once you put your mind to something, you can accomplish anything, no matter what anyone says. She proved this as a child, and it's something that stuck with her through out the rest of her life.As I'll say for all the books in this entire series, this is one that is worth picking up! Though if you had to only choose one book in the series, I would say pick up this one. I Am Helen Keller is perfect for in home libraries, classrooms, and both school and public libraries. It's also the perfect reference for elementary school history projects and biographies. The illustrations are great, and compliment Meltzer's writing perfectly.

This series is phenomenal! As an educator and parent, I am so grateful for these books. This one is a wonderful story, written and illustrated beautifully.My daughter (6) was also very excited that there was actual braille in the book. She brought it to school to show all her friends.

Disclaimer: I’ve written the same review to almost all the books on this series. My daughter and son loves them.Been purchasing the whole series for a few months now. Super easy readings for kids, even for the 20-min trip between house and school. Interesting lives, and you can later discuss the story with the kids. I have found that most of them (stories) stick to their minds, even recalling full names and events a few weeks/months later.

I live in Alabama about 20 miles from Helen Keller's home in Tuscumbia. When my granddaughters came for spring break we visited Helen Keller's home. My ten-year-old granddaughter doesn't enjoy reading but I ordered this book for her. Because she had seen the home and had it appealed to her. And when she saw the comic-style drawings she was hooked. A fun way and interesting way to learn more about history.

We love these books. My son is 6 years old. We’ve been collected these titles for the last year and have every one in the set. He asks to read a different one every night and is learning to read them on his own. They are very educational and also entertaining. It’s amazing how much he has learned about Rosa Parks, Jim Henson, and all of the subjects of the books. He went as Jackie Robinson for book character day because, in his words, Jackie was so brave and a hero. His kindergarten teacher told me they were talking about differences and he started telling all his classmates about Gandhi. Amazing! These books have a great message and should be in everyone's library.

We have several books from this series, which we just love. This one is really cool, it has a good story, and is interactive with a page that has a braille alphabet for the kids to try. There is also a page with some pictures of objects with the braille label so the kids can try and spell out a word.

Ordinary People Change the World Series is the best. You can't go wrong. I love that Brad Meltzer's story telling is very captivating and the illustration by Christopher Eliopoulos is so cute. My 5 year old loves it. We read these books every night. Each book teaches that they were just ordinary people who had different struggles in life but they persevere by being courageous and by not giving up.

I heard about this book from the author on the radio the other day and it sounded brilliant so I bought it and thought I might give it as a gift to my son's first grade class. I received the book yesterday in the mail and my 3rd grade daughter read it before I even had a chance to look through it. She was so memorized by the story that she insisted on reading it to me immediately. It was such a well written book explaining the life of Helen Keller and all the obstacles she had to overcome. Now I have decided to give it to my daughter's 3rd grade teacher because I think that 3rd graders might be more effected by the story. Can't wait to try another book written by Mr. Meltzer.

I am in love with these books. They not only teach your kids about history but they break it down so that they can understand it. Brad Meltzer tells about this significant people in history in a way that is fun and that kids are genuinely interested in them. I would recommend these to all parents.

This is my first review even after years and thousands of dollars in purchases on Amazon. I felt I owed it to the author after finally feeling thrilled with a cookbook purchase.As an aspiring "home chef" without talent or experience, I've bought dozens of cookbooks hoping to find one that would enable me to create cuisine, not just mundane meals. Sadly, I have been let down countless times. Sure, my lack of cooking skills puts me at a huge disadvantage, but I'm not buying complex books. I tried to stick with cookbooks that focused on the novice. In the end, my dishes looked nothing like the photos, tasted nothing like the description, and left me with little more than dirty dishes and buyer's remorse.The Steamy Kitchen Cookbook changed that for me. I've now cooked six meals from within these pages and every single one of them left me literally smiling at first bite. Just like one of those corny food commercials. :) Here's why:1. The ingredients were all found at my local supermarket...unlike books that sent me to far away places in search of obscure spices that I'd never use again.2. The book was fun to read, kept my attention, and gave me insight like no other cookbook had given me in the past. Most just started right in with the recipes, leaving me with more questions than answers. Unlike the Steamy Kitchen, they focused on the "how" without ever addressing the "why".3. The steps were easy to follow, the dishes easy to prepare, and the end result actually matched the photos. The other cookbooks I bought should have come with a sous chef because I was way out of my element. I never realized how inadequate they were until I read and followed this book.4. The flavors were solid, delicious, and spot-on. I couldn't believe I made these meals. They seemed complex to the taste but they were actually quite easy to make. I wasn't the only one in our family raving about the food I cooked. If you knew me, you'd know how incredible that is.The Scallops & Fruit Salsa...amazing. The Salmon with Cucumber Relish...amazing (I used her 250-degree slow-cook method instead of steaming). The Crab Cakes...best I have EVER tasted. I could go on and on. And I will, in my kitchen, until I've cooked every meal in the book.If you are hesitant to purchase this book...don't be. Even if you actually ARE a chef, unlike me, you'll find the dishes and flavors to be divine. But if you're a hazard waiting to happen in the kitchen, like me, this book will literally motivate you to keep trying.Yeah...it's that good.

If you've never heard of Jaden Hair or cooked any of her online recipes, let me just tell you right here and now that her cookbook will not disappoint you. Full of amazing and beautiful full color photos for each recipe, you can decide what you want to make for dinner this week simply by feasting with your eyes.For years, I used this beef broccoli recipe I'd found online and when I tried Jaden's beef broccoli recipe, my husband simply looked up at me after the first bite and said it was the best beef broccoli I'd ever made. When I made it for my in-laws, they absolutely loved it.Jaden gives you very great instructions and also writes with the same quirky, cute, and friendly tone as she does online. This is the kind of cookbook I absolutely adore, because the photography makes it something you can look through not only for recipes but for visual representation and her writing style really makes you feel as though you've got a friend in the kitchen. After cooking several of her recipes, I'm pretty much convinced that nothing in her cookbook will taste less than amazing.

Great Asian cookbook, but it came up as a "people who bought this also purchased this" item when I bought my steamer....and there is not a single steamer recipe in the book, well maybe a couple of dimsum dumpling recipes :) Since I love Asian food I'm not upset to get it, but I was really looking forward to getting a good cookbook for my new steamer.

I love Jaden Hair's "Steamy Kitchen CookBook". I first discovered her recipe for Mama's Famous EggRoll while surfing the net for egg roll recipes. I like the step by step photos and her comic sense of humor, as she instructs the readers on why you have to follow it step by step instructions. Her book has excelllent photos, including those of her beautiful family. The cook book is full of helpful, guiding tips, including such things as how to best cut up fresh ginger and advice on what kind of cookingware and ingredients to use. I love her comments on how other chefs have influenced her own cooking. I'm excited to starting trying some of her recipes.

This book is amazing. I want to try each recipe. I love there is a picture for each recipe so I know how the finished product should look. The only negative is where it takes about the tools and various ingredients, there are no pictures, so if you don't know what the tool or ingredient is, you are lost or need to go look it up.As I stated above, I didn't see any recipe in this book, I do not want to make.

So this is a great book. Jaden Hair illustrates how to make some great asian inspired dishes. Some of the recipes are incredibly easy, but many would take you a little longer or have too many ingredients to make it simple enough for a weekday meal for a family with a busy schedule. But if you are looking for a book with some great asian inspired recipes that will surely satisfy your family and you dont mind putting in a little elbow grease, here is your book. The book is beautifuly illustrated and easily explains through pictures, how to do more complex tasks, step by step. Only a few of her recipes contained ingredients that I thought may be hard to find outside of the asian grocery store, however, I had no problem finding any of them in my local grocer. Buy the book! You will enjoy it.

This book gave a history of Brierfield (Jefferson Davis Plantation) and Hurricane Plantation (Joseph Davis Plantation) south of Vicksburg, MS located on Davis Bend next to the Mississippi River. The book shows the Davis family fighting the Mississippi River Floods and losing more than than winning. The book gave us a peek at Jefferson, Joseph and Varina (Jefferson's second wife). Varina had to have everything her way and this brought her into conflict with Joseph. This is something that I had suspected from other historical documents but this book nailed it down. Brierfield was named by Jefferson Davis's first wife, Knox, and had nothing to do with Varina's girlhood home in Natchez, The Briars. So that was cleared up and I am grateful.Frank Edgar Everett, Jr., the author, was an attorney in Jackson, Ms (now deceased) and I am so glad he took the time from his busy schedule as an attorney to write this book.

It would be nice if i would have received an official copy. This manga was not sealed in plastic like the previous nine, and it was censored with black bars. The censorship takes away from the ecchi factor. I read the previous nine that were uncensored, so why is this one censored?

This volume is the fallout of suspension of the Mon squad after Lala's intervention with the girl and Zombina's tooth. To make up for the issue, Khirito takes each of the ladies out on a one day date. Now normally that would be a simple matter, but fans of the series knows it never ends up that way. With each girl is a different situation and of course there has to be some obstacle to mess things up, be it a hopping zombie looking for a man, a day of pranks with a shapechanger, a simple picnic with a girl with an enormous.....heart, and to help a shy one-eye accept herself is all in a days work for our hapless hero. But are these happy days going to continue, or is something sinister on the horizon.This one was great, each story was well written and planned and hilarous. Each of the girls got their own moment in the spotlight (and you get to see a glimpse of Doppel). With cameos from Polk, Kii, Miia, Lilith, and Drago this volume has the usual fun fare that fans look forward to.

I was delighted with the 10th volume of Monster Musume. The ladies of Kimihito's house are relegated to mostly cameo appearances; as the cover indicates, it's the women of the MON Squad who dominate here. In this volume, the central concept has Kimihito taking all the MON Squad members out on dates. In a review of the second volume of the spin-off I Heart Monster Girls, I expressed a wish that Doppel would get a chance to carry a story. She gets not one, but two chapters. In the opening sequence, she takes us on a tour of the other members' rooms (and these rooms really reflect their personalities). As for her date with Kimihito? It was as if Okayado was writing a chapter designed specifically to please me. We see that while Doppel may be the resident prankster, she's a dedicated law officer and she matches wits with another favorite character, Lilith. There is a great close-up of Doppel on the case that suggests you would not want her catching you breaking the law. In a chapter featuring Tio, we have guest appearances by Kii and Polt. Draco is also back, with her unsuccessful efforts at finding that perfect reptilian woman. All in all, Monster Musume 10 was a joy to read.

And here I thought vol 9 would be the last, good read
